For whatever it's worth, the 1pc Steel DS that I tried long ago and disliked was by Inland Empire, the same company that makes the Carbon Fiber one I just purchased. You would assume they did a proper job balancing the Steel 1pc when I purchased it new. You could try switching back to your OEM 2pc driveshaft to verify if there are any subtle changes at all to the nature of the vibration, less than what you were previously trying to detect but still present. If there is any indication that the vibration changed at all, even slightly, it could mean the CF DS is the way to go. You mentioned you tried different wheels and tires, so did I! The driveshaft vibration can really sound like its coming from the front of the car, behind the dash or in the wheel wells. I tried a different used set of tires on my old GTVs, then brand new tires, then had the shop re-balance the wheels/tires after it made no change. Tried a completely different set of 350z wheels and tires, again no change. Good luck, post an update if you get anywhere with it.
